Today's a little different that the last two days have been for me. I still woke up with that burning conviction to improve my life. That hasn't changed, and at the rate I'm going, I don't think it will. Praise God for that. Here's the thing.....I woke up EARLY! I'm normally hitting the snooze button on my phone's alarm at 8:30 in the morning, but this morning, even though I went to bed at midnight, which is my norm, I got up at 7:30. I didn't feel like I needed to go BACK to sleep. I felt rejuvenized. Reviltalized. Fresh. Granted, muscles I didn't know I had were crying out to me in agony, but that's not important. I expected that. I seriously forgot how wonderfully WELL I sleep when my body has earned it's exhaustion. My body was spent yesterday. I had to take a nap! Not wanted to, but NEEDED to! And that's another thing. I use to take naps every other day anyway, but that was because I was lazy. And my naps ranged between 2-3 hours. So much time wasted sleeping my life away! Now, my naps are maybe 1 hour. Maybe. And I feel like I'm getting a sufficient amount of rest.
I'm really excited for my new workout program, TurboFire, to come in the mail. It should be here any day now. And with it, I ordered a bag of Chocolate Shakeology, which I have been missing SOOOO much! It's truly like having a chocolate shake for breakfast, but a chocolate shake that's healthier (and in my opinion tastier) than ANY other chocolate shake you can get your hands on. Really. It's THAT good. It doesn't have any funky aftertaste like some of those other "fitness shakes" on the market do. It's clean, leaves you feeling energized for the day, aids in weightloss, curbs unhealthy cravings, and has about a thousand other wonderful health benefits. But I'm not really here to "sell" you on it. I'm just iterating why I love it so stinkin' much. I've finally made the commitment to incorporate one serving of it into my life, every day. Because let's be honest. I hate my veggies. I really really do. I buy vegetables if I can mask them in a recipe, which isn't truly the way you're supposed to eat your vegetables. I am wanting SERIOUS results. I am getting SERIOUS about my health. And to do that I can do one of two things. 1) I can go broke buying food I can't afford to buy and force myself to eat it even though I won't ENJOY it (which for me, is making some serious sacrifices) or 2) I can save money and buy myself Shakeology every month, replacing my breakfast costs all together, and making up for my utter lack of vegetable love aka: GET those nutrients in me somehow. In one serving of Shakeology, I've gotten my daily 3-5 servings of veggies. Poof! Just like that. I'm done for the day. But I don't plan on stopping there. There are SOME vegetables I "like", so to speak. I enjoy salads, although I'm extremely particular on the dressing and toppings (I don't like ANY additions to my salad unless they're croutons, and how healthy is THAT?). I like tomatoes (I know they're a fruit/berry, but for some reason, my brain refuses to accept this fact) on certain things....like mexican food, but I won't eat them in a burger. I like my cucumbers fresh. Cucumbers are also fantastically refreshing in a pitcher with water, smashed around and filtered out. I like raw carrots, cooked onions, cooked celery, garlic is a favorite cooking associate, broiled artichokes, cooked mushrooms, fresh spinach salads or spinach in a sandwich (but not cooked, UGH, unless in a recipe), etc. But I won't touch fresh broccoli, fresh peppers (unless they're banana peppers), brussel sprouts, sprouts, raw mushrooms, raw onions, raw celery, etc etc etc. I'm picky. I've certainly outgrown some vegetable dislikes, because, imagine this...I was PICKIER as a kid! But I sure do love fruits. :) Most fruits that is. I'm not a huge friend to the melon family, although watermelon and honey dew is an exception (still don't LOVE it, though).
Point being, I have healthy food "issues". I NEED Shakeology to feel healthy and to get my daily "veggies". Otherwise, I'm a sad sad energy-less slob that is missing out on so many important vitamins and nutrients (and yes, I have tried multi-vitamins...still tired). In conjuntion with a regular exercise routine, this is a recipe for MY success. A recipe to reach MY goals. This works for ME. What works for you? Figure that out, and you are on the road to reaching those goals you never thought were attainable. Oh, and another thing. DREAM BIG! Don't be afraid to dream big for yourself. Anything is possible. You just have to want it enough, work hard enough, and it WILL come. What are some of your dreams? And if you don't have any, sit down and start making some. Write them down. Put then on your wall. Write them on or tape them to your mirror so you have to look at them everyday. Don't see these goals as something you'll never get around to. Do SOMETHING every single day that is an effort to get you TOWARDS that goal. You have to see things as possible to overcome what others may view as impossible. Impossible is only a state of mind. Start living, and quit feeling sorry for yourself!
